Financial Planning for Guard and Reserve Families: Part 2 Retirement

Guard and Reserve families share many similar financial experiences with Active Duty families; but there are distinct advantages and challenges related to their Reserve Component status. This session will focus on the unique aspects of Guard and Reserve retirement including topics related to qualifying for retirement, calculating a reserve pension, reducing their retired pay eligibility age, and earning an active duty pension. Additionally, we’ll take a detailed look at the Reserve Component Survivor Benefit Plan (RC-SBP) decision, healthcare coverage and gray zone retiree benefits and limitations.
