Matthew Schwartzman

Reserve Organization of America (ROA)

Matthew Schwartzman is the legislation and military policy director for the Reserve Organization of America (ROA): the only national military organization that solely and exclusively supports the Reserve and National Guard.

Responsible for the management and execution of ROA’s government relations program, Matthew spearheads the development and implementation of a legislative and military policy portfolio that sustains reserve component readiness and provides for an adequate national defense.

Matthew graduated from Towson University in 2019 with a bachelor of science in political science and has been an advocate in the defense and veteran’s policy arena for more than five years. Matthew’s experience in government affairs began at just 17 years old when he testified before a local town hall in opposition to a proposal to place speed bumps on the road where his family’s house was located.

As a champion for the military community and national security, Matthew has influenced the introduction and passage of landmark legislation (the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our PACT Act), testified before Congress, and strengthened relationships with mission partners across all industry sectors.
