Dr. Eric Elbogen is the Director of the National Veterans Financial Resource Center (FINVET) at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and a Professor of Psychiatry at Duke University. He has worked at the VA since 2007, when he started running money management groups for Veterans. In the past 16 years, he has developed financial education materials for Veterans and led federally funded studies evaluating their impact on Veterans’ financial well-being. Dr. Elbogen has also published a number of scientific papers showing links between financial well-being in Veterans and outcomes, including suicidal ideation and homelessness.
