Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society

Dawn is Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer at the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, a non-profit military aid society dedicated to assisting Sailors, Marines and their families. Prior to joining the Society, she ran Dawn Cutler Consulting, LLC and advised clients on communication strategies and leader development.

Her 28-year U.S. Navy career culminated in serving as the Navy’s Chief of Information, the only flag officer assignment for Navy public affairs officers where she served as the principal spokesperson and communication advisor to the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations and their staffs.

She has 12 years’ experience working in Washington, DC at the highest levels of government developing and executing communication strategies involving military policy and operations. She has operated in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, Europe and Africa. In these roles, she coordinated with Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, Combatant Commanders and regional embassies ensuring operational narratives supported national objectives. She has prepared senior executives and commanders for countless media engagements, speaking events, and other outreach activities in the Pentagon and overseas.
